This tutorial will show you how to see which apps have requested to take screenshots or record screen for your account in Windows 11.
When an allowed app take screenshots or record the screen, it gets logged in recent activity.
You can review screenshot or screen recording recent activity requests by apps in the last 7 days. This can be helpful for privacy and to turn off apps you don't want to allow the ability to take screenshots and record screen.
Here's How:
1 Open Settings (Win+I).
2 Click/tap on Privacy & security on the left side, and click/tap on Screenshots and screen recording on the right side under "App permissions". (see screenshot below)
3 Under, Let apps take screenshots and record the screen, you will see a list of Microsoft Store apps that have previously requested access to take screenshots or record the screen. There will be a last accessed date and time for each listed app. (see screenshot below)
4 Under, Let desktop apps take screenshots and record the screen, you will see a list of desktop apps that have previously requested access to take screenshots or record the screen. There will be a last accessed date and time for each listed app. (see screenshot below)
5 Click/tap on Recent activity to expand it open and see a list of all desktop and Microsoft Store apps that have requested to take screenshots or record the screen in the last seven days. Each app request will show its accessed date and time for reference. (see screenshot below)
You will see the total number of requests (ex: "37") in the last 7 days to the right of Recent activity.
You can click/tap on the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom to scroll through the apps in the recent activity list.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
