Seeking power supply advice

Hi,
My current PS is an EVGA 500BR. It keeps shutting off my PC 15-20 times a day and I need to replace it.
I did do quite a bit of research online and I keep seeing conflicting reviews about EVGA, Corsair and a bunch of other brands.
Which brand/model to buy? Can you guys give me some advice based on your respective experience?
Just a "normal" office PC, no gaming involved.

For some reason, the 750W power supplies are cheaper than the 650 watt, so...

What's your budget?

If you just want a PSU that is adequate for your "System 1", you don't need a large PSU.

What I'd regard as a very conservative estimate (300W):


None of the PSUs I've used have failed. Power&Cooling, Seasonic, eVGA, BeQuiet!.

I've mostly used eVGA over the past few builds, but I stopped using the highest power one I'd ever bought from them due to excessive fan noise. I now have a BeQuiet! one, which is, er, quiet. Every other PSU I've had from them has been good. eVGA doesn't manufacture PSUs, though. They don't tell you the sources.

I believe that Corsair also doesn't make their own PSUs. The quality may vary among different series.

Some people suggest getting at least 80+ Gold efficiency or better. Supposedly to assure higher quality design and components compare to 80+ bronze.

Seasonic has a favorable reputation. I believe that they manufacture PSUs, some of which they may source to eVGA or Corsair. (They may outsource their less expensive models.)

The expensive boutique PC builder Puget Systems seems to like Super Flower (Leadex).

Is this indefinite enough for you?

I have a Corsair CX750 modular if you are interested.

I've used Corsair for nearly 10 years now and never had a single issue. Also, the computer case ergonomics is important. Some PSUs may not fit in some cases.

If anyone is into PSU reviews the best site I know of is Hardware Buster's which carries comprehensive reviews and has lists of recommended PSUs based on their testing.

Recommended 750 watt PSUs
