If selling the PC then remember to remove it from the list of devices in your MS account if you have one after prepping/ wiping the PC.

Does anybody know exactly what that does? For ssd it might be better to use the manufacturer supplied sanitize/secure erase which doesn't thrash the disk.

If the manufacturer doesn't supply it, solidigm say their software can do it for all ssd.

Once you've erased eveything off of the hard drive, the PC's value just went down to JUNK price.
Because, it's then left up to the new owner to come up with an Os and all the hardware drivers.
Especially on older PC's, that alone can be a real Deal Breaker.

I TAKE a whole different tack. I JUST create a new user, with admin rights, boot in to the new user, then delete the old user. Deleting the old user also deletes all their personal files, folders, etc. Then the PC is virtually Clean and ready to be resold. For that new user, I use a really generic name, like Joe, or even User.
Or if you already know the name of the new user, just use their name.
In less than an hour, I CAN clean up any PC and have it ready for resale.
It will be as clean as the day it came off the assembly line.
