I no longer see Recent files in File Explorer. My understanding is that this is a problem introduced by a Win11 update a while ago. But my understanding too is that these Folder Options should restore the Recent Files. But I am not seeing them. I'll be grateful for any help. Bob

...but you also need 'Show recommended files in Start, recent files in File Explorer, and items in Jump Lists' in Personalisation > Start turned on for it to work.

Thanks for a very prompt response, Bree, and for making me aware of Personalization > Start. But, when I went to check it I found that it was already on. So I remain befuddled.

I turned my option in Personalization > Start off and back on again while I was preparing to post. Doing so cleared all my recent files and jump lists. :(

They should start building up again with use. Try opening a few .txt files and see if your list starts to grow.
