Solved SMB 1.0, Nvidia Shield TV, and Kodi Question

The only way I have been able to get my media shares from both my Windows 10 and now this 11 PC onto Kodi (on my Nvidia Shield TV) is to go into Windows Features and check the boxes for SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and SMB 1.0/CIFS Server. With those enabled it works great with both W10 and W11 PCs.

Now I know that SMB-1.0 is deprecated because of security issues, but how much of an issue is it on a private (home) network?

Alternately, has anyone here found a way to set up Kodi on the Shield TV to find and use shares without SMB 1.0 enabled?

There are settings in Kodi to specify the minimum and maximum SMB protocols to use.

SMB 1.0 if next to zero risk on a LAN that is behind a NAT firewall built into most routers.

Yes, I toggled through the Min and Max Protocol Version v1, v2, v3, and anything but v1 resulted in an operation not allowed error message.

If there is little risk with SMB 1.0 behind the NAT then I am happy with it. Thanks for the info.
