Windows 11
I just built a new PC and am on Windows 11 Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3194). I'm trying to disable or uninstall the built in screen capture. On 23H2 I was able to uninstall Snipping Tool to use Greenshot, and the Print Screen button worked fine for launching Greenshot.

On 24H2 there is no option to uninstall Snipping Tool. I've tried turning off "Use print screen key to open screen capture" under Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard, but that seems to completely disable the Print Screen key.

I've tried the Group Policy setting "Do not allow Snipping Tool to run", but it seems to have no effect. Running "winget list" doesn't show Snipping Tool being installed at all, so I assume they've integrated it into the OS with 24H2.

Does anybody know of a way to disable this "feature"? I can remap Greenshot, but would prefer not to have to change how I have been using Greenshot for more than 10 years.

Thank you sooo much! The registry change from your first link - Turn_OFF_use_Print_Screen_button_to_open_screen_snipping.reg worked. Greenshot launches with Print Screen and the built in snipping tool is no longer launching.

No problem. Welcome to the forum, Alakarr 🙏
