I bought two sticks of Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200 16gb. I ran CPUID and although thte specs on each are identical one report says one stick has chips made by Hynix and the other was Micron. I'm not experiencing any problems. Amazon sells these individually for $25.99 each or a set of two for for something like $62.99. I ordered 2 of the lower price.

Does the higher price pair imply that the chips are form the same mfgr ?

To enable dual channel RAM, purchase RAMs with identical chip specs.

CPU Z reports: Looks like I'm not running dual channel. I;m wondering if I;d see any significant increase if I bought the set for $62.99 ?

You will have more bandwidth with dual channel configuration.

According to CPU Z they now express dual channel mempry as 2x64 so I'm good. Thanks.

Paired devices are generally tested and closer matched in performance that random picks.

For dual channel you should be buying memory modules in a set/kit of 2. Such modules will be from the same manufacturer and the same Month/Date, production batch.

The difference in cost is normally small, Corsair are overcharging.

2 Individual modules from different manufacturers will not be closely matched.

In this case both modules are from Corsair but the individual chips are from different manufacturers. HW INFO reports they are identical and I am running Dual Channel. And they are overcharging seemingly on the basis that people will think they are matched when in fact they already are.
