Something is changing my display personalisation.

I have display set to slideshow but something is changing it to picture, sometimes while the PC is on but always on a reboot. Some of the possible fixes I have found include deleting certain system folders which seems a bit drastic. If a specific app is changing it, how do I backtrack to look for whatever did it?

Windows doesn't record that level of detail. You can try using procmon, but you would want to determine where those settings are stored (likely your user registry hive) and setup appropriate filters in procmon to only report changes to relevant values

If you're using a MS Account as your user logon, Windows might be resync'ing the settings from another PC.

I have just booted my laptop but the display has not changed. It was worth trying though. Thanks.

That sounds heavy :( I have looked through SERVICES but I can't see anything obvious that is running. This only started happening 2 weeks ago but there is nothing new on my PC other than updates.
