Reading the information available online from subscribers ( including myself )
and the server / cloud backup accepted as available , a denial of service is considered by many as extremely likely.

No one with a reasonable technical track record takes 11 days for a reset , or copying to another server setup . !

Sales and allowing re registering existing software on reinstall etc , especially being the key to their service.

Funny I did a search under Wincustomize and Stardock and your thread link did not appear ! ......... apologies.

Is that your technical experience is it?

The backup is 32 Gigabytes and needs to be treated delicately.

a denial of service is considered by many as extremely likely.

Not only likely but actually stated by Stardock a week ago.

... a denial of service is considered by many as extremely likely.
A denial of service does not at all automatically mean that...
... hundreds of thousands of user ID's being possibly compromised ?

Hacking or stealing user databases is something completely different from blocking a server by means of DDos attacks!
When user databases are set up correctly (by means of encrypting it), even hacking the server does not mean the data would be compromized.
