Solved Streaming to analogue hifi

I have a denon analogue amp that I want to stream music to (I have a cyrus aCA7 but the preamp has died, old but superb) Anyway I want to stream audio from my synology NAS to the denon but I have no idea and I don't want to spend too much<, Anybody able to offer advice/help? Not multi room by the way.

There is no cheap way of adding music streaming to hifi, I think you would be looking €400+ unfortunately.

This kind of thing for about €30-100 has thousands of ratings and seems to get the job done.

You'll need a wifi music adapter like this connected to the AUX input of your Denon system:

Then download the music app for your Synology NAS and cast the music to the wifi music adapter.

It works great but does your NAS put out Bluetooth?

Normally, wifi streaming is the only way to do it using NAS.
I am using Google Chromecast Audio which is hard to find these days but there are aftermarket alternatives.
I programmed my Stream Deck to cast music from NAS to my PC (via VLC) which I can also cast thru wifi. Most NAS these days have their own app for music streaming via wifi.

Thanks for the replies, I now have starting points. My NAS a Synology 216j doesn't have Bluetooth or wifi, it connects via my modem/router an Orange livebox. I'll look around with the starting ideas I now have. I can do it through my tv but I don't like having the screen lit up with a boring grey background while I'm listening. Thanks again for the helpful information.

Your NAS doesn't need a wifi. As long as your NAS is connected to the internet, it can communicate with wifi adapter as long as they are on the same network. Go with the wifi adapter.

I can stream through my tv but I would like to go from NAS to analogue amp with no digital inputs. Obviously I need a device to take the data from the Nas and convert it to analogue for the amp. It needs to include a DAC it's the connection to the NAS that I need to sort: Analogue signal from DAC to amp by phono but I need to get the data from the NAS to the DAC. The NAS is connected to the wifi network via ethernet, it's just a unit that will take the wifi signal and pass it to the DAC/amp: I'm used to doing every thing analogue fashion with cables. There's no bluetooth available.

Actually, the audio signal from the wifi adapter is already analog. No need for the DAC. You just need an AUX to RCA cable to connect to your amplifier system.

I might suggest a Raspberry Pi with a HiFiBerry DAC as an inexpensive solution with high quality sound.

Open Source Media Center on a RaspberryPi is what I have connected to my TV but there are other options as above links show. Google and you'll find other solutions using the Pi.

For someone who doesn't have an idea how to do a straightforward streaming, I think putting this all together may not be an ideal recommendation.
Better to start with plug n play.
