AOMEI Backupper (imaging <> restore only, have to pay for everything else incl. cloning, mouting image file to examine/extract contents. Very very limited)

aomei backupper free version allows partition clone, system image, disk image, partition image, file backup, basic sync, but no explore image in the recent free version. Which is an odd omission, maybe it will reappear.

?? Not my version ... takes you so far through all the steps but then at the point where it's ready to clone >>> Upgrade to pro/Insert license key.
Download page says free version only clones data disks/drives/partitions (i.e. not systems). Pretty limited.
But, I still use the free imaging option regularly (as well as Macrium)

Yes, aomei backupper free version does partition clone but not system clone.
diskgenius is the best free tool for os migration for most people ( which means system clone) for the rare occasions when such a function is needed.
geeks might prefer to use winntsetup's wincopy which has lots of fun things like exclusions, but partitioning needs to be done first.
