My main email client is Thundebird on my desktop

I was using Mail Droid as my email client on my android phone for checking my email
when away from my desktop.

Today it stopped working and is no longer available on Play store.

I installed the Thunderbird AP. It was very simple with my sympatico account

There are 2 features that I have to be careful about.

If I delete an email, it is also deleted on the Bell web mail and goes into the deleted folder.

If I empty the delete folder, the mail on the Bell web mail also gets deleted.

Have you had any experience with this APP?

This is the expected behavior with IMAP mail.

Thank you for this information. I have always used POP account for decades. I am ignorant on how IMAP works.

IMAP keep the mails in a central server. It´is better to keep the mails synchronized in several devices, as in this case, in a desktop and a phone.

In a desktop, It´s possible to configure Thunderbird to use IMAP or POP. I haven´t tried Thunderbird in a phone.

I have used IMAP exclusively for years, if not decades.

I'm using Thunderbird on an Android in POP format, although it's actually called K-9 Mail. Works fine. Deleting an email from the Trash can does not delete it from the ISP server, so I can download it to my PC later if I wish.

Since I prefer a backup alternative to most things if it's freely available, I also use eM Client on the Android. The phone is a Poco F6 (previously a Poco X5 Pro) and on both phones I've experienced eM Client to not load properly at random times. So not such a good backstop, it seems. Again, POP format and deleting an email from Trash does not delete it from the ISP server.

I downloaded K-9 Mail and it works fine. The installation was a breeze and no need to enter POP and SMTP servers name.

I have many folders in My desktop Thunderbird and it also my database of sort.

Thanks for that tip

My MailDroid also stopped working, after something like 20 years. I have not found anything remotely like it: as far as I am able to research, it's the only email client for Android that permits you to filter POP3 emails into folders. Is there something else that does that? I tried Thunderbird for Android, and it doesn't sort POP3 emails at all on Android phones.
