Hi guys. I am on Windows 11 24H2 and the update KB5050009 keeps failing to install, with Install error - 0x800f081f. I recently did a Windows 11 reset/reinstall, so I really don't want to go through that again. Is there a way to try install update manually? Help appreciated :)

I started the updates last night but gave up with KB50530009 until this morning when I chatted with MS about this update, and I asked how large the update was. He revealed that it was huge and slow due to so many downloads happening Tuesday and today. I was impatient and shutdown so restarted it this morning then gave up too early. I think maybe just being patient and waiting for the downloads would have been prudent. Getting old and crotchy is my problem.

I saw a "Windows Update Troubleshooter", but read that it reinstalls the OS, but keeps apps and files and such. I really don't want to do that, but read on google that updates can be manually downloaded and installed? How would I go about doing that for KB5050009? Further help appreciated :)

I gave up trying to do it myself and opened the chat line. A guy took over my PC and cleared it up, so the update completed okay. I told him I was getting too old for this stuff.
