Unable to Connect to WiFi 6 Router - Please Help

Hi everyone,
AT&T just upgraded my router, which now supports WiFi6. I have a cheap Gateway computer I use for a media server which is having all sorts of problems. It sees the new router. Sometimes it connects and works for a few minutes and then stops working. Sometimes it won't even connect.

The wireless card is a Realtek RTL8821CU. I think I found the latest driver online last night and installed.

Does anyone know if there is something else I need to do in terms of drivers or settings on my computer to get this to work? Is there some setting in the router that needs to be changed to allow this computer to connect?

Any help would really be greatly appreciated!

Does it have to be connected via Wi-Fi? Ethernet cable is a much better/reliable connection if you can run the cable. Just something to consider.

I would call AT&T. You may have a defective router.

And even if it is not defective, AT&T Customer Service should have plenty of trouble-shooting steps for you to perform to try and diagnose it. It may be a setting in the wireless card in the computer, it may be a setting on the Wi-Fi interface in the router, or even a combination of things.

Winuser has the best and fastest solution - they replaced it, and now you're having issues, so take it up with them.
