Unable to rename an internet connection

I'd like to rename my Ethernet connection to CzarNet. However, Win 11 isn't permitting it as per the attached figures from Control Panel. Advice would be appreciated.

No, CzarWiFi. Although, I have previously named the Ethernet connection 'CzarNet' and it disappeared for some reason.

if you arent familiar with cmd line for this task, check this portable app out. sordum is trustworthy apps. it also shows the reg location (images on the link page) if you want to look through reg keys and make sure there aren't duplicate entries you can manually edit without using the app. if all else fails, the app works well for quick edits.

Network Profile Name Changer v1.4

If you want to easily Rename or delete a Windows Network Profile Name you can use a Portable freeware "Network Profile Name changer"

Try this:
Open regedit.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

Under the "Profiles" key, you will find subkeys representing each network connection. These subkeys are named with GUIDs.

Go through the subkeys to find the one that corresponds to the network connection you want to modify.

Inside the subkey, you will find a string value named 'ProfileName'. Double-click on it and modify the data to the desired network name.

PS: (You can also delete any old keys under profile that you no longer use or want.)

Thank you. The image below shows the Registry entries under Profiles, with the first one expanded. What is it I should delete?

Note: I have previously deleted entries corresponding to Network x and lost the name of the network being used. RegEdit did not allow me to import the backup registry file I had created. I re-installed a full disk backup sucessfully.
