Unlocking the brightness bar of an screen

Hi

I have a laptop with Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and I connected an external monitor.

I cannot adjust the brightness of that screen as its bar is locked on maximum.

So. how should I unlock it to be able to adjust the brightness of this screen?

Without any info on your laptop I can only say how I control the external monitor on mine. The iGPU and Windows has no control. My dedicated Nvidia card's Control Panel has full control of it for any adjustments.

I have a laptop with Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise, dedicated NVidia graphics card and I have connected an external monitor.

I noticed that, when clicking on the Battery icon on the system tray, the brightness bar is disabled but this feature is adjustable from the Windows PC Laptop Center app. How come?

Could we have more specific info like the model and name and number , manufacturer.
Battery in Settings is adjust for battery saving mode and to that end, it will lower the
brightness of the screen(s).

This problem is typically related to the display driver that you are using. Make sure that use the driver provided by the maker of the laptop. The ability to control brightness typically requires customization of the display driver by the OEM.

If you have an AMD CPU then the Nvidia Control Panel should do it. If you have an Intel CPU then Intel Graphics Commander should do it. Both available from Ms Store.

It should . I have a MUX switch on this PC and only use the nVidia GPU but, if I were
to switch to MSHybrid, I would be able to better explain how to use the Intel Commander

Since you most likely have the Intel GPU on your CPU you should be able to adjust both screens.
You will also have to go to Settings / Display to make use of those settings as well.
