USB Selective Suspend settings are not available in Win 11

I have a new Dell Inspiron 15 3520 laptop. I attempted to get to the USB Selective Suspend settings in Device Manager but they are not there. I have a USB powered cooling pad attached to the laptop; I want it to automatically shut off when the lid is closed and it just keeps running. So far I have my power settings at "Sleep" on battery and plug-in. I also have the lid set to trigger "Sleep". I used this same cooling pad on the old computer with no problems (Windows 10). So I ultimately followed "Brink's" advice on this forum and modified the registry by adding his suggested lengthy power setting. I then also selected "1" as a value. Problem still persists. I just don't know if I needed to select "1" in the registry since it was on a different line. I also went to properties of USB Root Hub 3.0 and Intel USB 3.10 Extensible Host Controller in Device Manager to check the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device". Any help you can give is desperately needed so thank you in advance!

Hello Arlene, and welcome to the forum. :alien:

Just to confirm, were you able to turn on "USB selective suspend setting" via the Control Panel like in option one below?

It's usually enabled by default.

If having "USB selective suspend setting" and "Allow the computer to turn off this device" turned on doesn't help, then you may have a UEFI/BIOS setting on your Dell laptop allowing the USB ports to remain active when the laptop is powered off.

Expand "USB settings" it under that category.

You're more observant than me. That USB category wasn't there for days. So I guess it appeared after I did the registry key entry. So I just expanded it and both plug in and battery are enabled.

They are enabled by default, why the USB settings not was not an option i have no clue.

I believe the settings weren't there until I added USB options to the registry. I'm still not sure if that part was done correctly with entering the value set number of 1. Either way, the cooling pad still won't shut off.

I did not know cooling pads have that power option, which one are you using?

It's not the power options of the cooling pad- the cooling pad has nothing but a usb plug in. I was talking about modifying the registry of the laptop because it was missing everything related to the usb ports.
