Google data collection research report

I'm sure many know about some of the data the worlds largest company of it kind collects however I guarantee you do not know all that is contained within this rather disturbing yet "it doesn't surprise me" in-depth data collection forensics analysis report.

It doesn't surprise me at all. Microsoft data collection is almost as bad. These days if a person wants 100% privacy, the only way around it is to not use any electronic devices at all for any reason. Even then it's not 100%. There's a camera on every corner, a credit card machine on every counter, and satellites in the sky taking pictures, just to name a few where my privacy is being invaded.
The way I deal with it? I don't worry about it. It is what it is.

Yep. If one becomes paranoid about it, a many seem to be, it starts working on the mind. Invasion of the mind is much worse than invasion of privacy.
Folks worry about the big boys like Google and MS but IMO social media is much worse. That's the worst invasion of privacy there is....whether voluntarily donated by the user and shared with the world and the owner of every link a user clicks on.

It actually blows my mind when my husband who uses a local account searches for say, a new generator(or anything else), on his PC and I start seeing all these ads for generators on both my computers.

Eh I trust them about as much as any other company.

They are all pretty bad. I have always said privacy is pretty dead but at least Google is honest about it. They blatantly tell me all the things it knows about me, what they track, etc. I know they know everything about me.

The only thing that's been pretty nice (and hopefully I don't jinx it) is they seem to have pretty good security. They haven't had a mass Google photos breach (unlike apple) and their bounty program is pretty good.

I trust that they know so much about everyone that it would be insanely bad if they had a mass breach, so they pour a lot of resources into making that not happen.

But yeah if you interact with any other people your privacy is invaded no matter how careful you are.

At this point it's worth me being the product to get the free stuff Google gives me.

Even if companies were not evil and did care about privacy, a data breach from the government, store, device etc makes all that useless anyway. I have been involved in 4 data breaches completely beyond my control, 2 of them from my own government. So it just doesn't really matter at this point.
