OS
WIN 11 but also have iPhone/ iPad;
Installed Ver 24H2 of Win 11 & had the following issues:
1. Wiped out ALL of my Many saved Google Chrome passwords. (Once I figured what was going on I only had to sign into Google to retore them but it was stressful until then & should not have happened.)
2. The hotel uses an operating system called HotelKey which is internet based. I had a Google Chrome icon set up with 6 links represented by icons inside the Google Chrome icon to various parts of HotelKey--Front desk, Night Audit, Reservations, etc--so that I could work from home. The installation process removed the special mark on the Google Chrome icon, broke the links & deleted the HotelKey icon links inside the Google Chrome icon.
3. I decided to do a system restore, usually to a safe point a few days before the update, but found all restore points before the one set by the installation process were gone. (hoping to restore my 6 HotelKey links).
**Did a system restore using saved version made by the installation process.
--It restored my Google Chrome Icon with the special mark but did NOT restore the HotelKey icons/ links inside the Google Chrome icon.
--Google Chrome opened once & then would not open again. Also 11 websites which I had installed as quick link Apps on the desktop would not open. (I downloaded a new copy of Google Chrome and Google Chrome & the web link Apps worked again.)
--I had an active link to the main HotelKey feature, front desk, on MS Edge and was able to install that as a web link App on the desktop so I am partially operational again.
**I have never had so many problems with an Update or Restore before so, be careful with update 24H2.

if you updated Win 11 to 24H2 in explorer double click C: drive
there you will find a folder named Windows.old

all your data is in that folder. you can copy the contents that you need over to the new install

if its a clean install then there will be no data in the Windows.old folder
best of luck, Steve ..

How, precisely, did you install 24H2? Was it a clean install, an upgrade from Win 10? Please give FULL details.

You can hardly expect your Google Chrome shortcuts to work when not signed in!

Reads to me that most (if not all) issues you have are related to Google Chrome.

The headline states that Windows 11 24H2 isn't problem free. That is hardly a revelation. I've been using Windows for over 30 years and cannot remember any version/build that didn't have an issue of some kind.

23H2 was prob the closest to no issues i've ever seen (as far as build upgrades). at least it didnt knock out a ton of my customizations... i installed 24H2 finally yesterday and had to redo about an hours worth of customizations before i made my weekly clone. was more of an annoyance than anything... i was really just waiting to ensure the networking issues and that explorer options flyout were fixed (which they both are now).
