What’s happening to VPN by Google One?
Starting June 20, 2024, VPN by Google One will be discontinued.VPN alternatives
- As part of its phone plans, Google Fi Wireless offers a VPN. Try Google Fi Wireless with VPN at no charge through go/g1fivpn.
- As part of their system settings, Pixel 8 and newer devices offer a built-in VPN.
- Pixel 7 devices
- After VPN by Google One is removed from the Google One app, Pixel 7 users can continue to use VPN functionality when they update their system software.
- Through a system update on June 3, 2024, Pixel enables VPN by Google, a built-in VPN, for Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, and Fold.
- Other VPNs available in the Play Store.
Remove VPN by Google One from your device
- Open Finder.
- In the sidebar, click Applications.
- You can also use Spotlight to search for VPN by Google One.
- Drag "VPN by Google One" to the Trash.
- Right-click on "VPN by Google One."
- Select Move to Trash.
- If you're asked for a username and password, enter the credentials of an administrator account on your Mac. This can be the name and password you use to log in to your Mac.
