Hello folks -

Hope all of you are doing well!

A friend of mine would like to export his WLM on W7 to Thunderbird on W11.
Is there a easy way to do this, since I haven't used WLM in years?

I don't want to export all EML files one at a time but in one go, if possible.

Thanks in advance! :-)

I’d probably load Thunderbird on the Windows 7 PC, import from WLM.
Then backup Thunderbird, export the settings and mail or just mail (Generally saves to a zip)
On the destination PC, restore Thunderbird from a backup, import the Thunderbird backup that was made on the Win 7 PC

Using the Export Tool:
  • Open Thunderbird: and go to Tools > Export.
  • Click "Export": to open a new window where you can choose the location to save your backup file (e.g., Desktop, Documents).
  • Select the desired location: and filename, then click "Save".
  • Thunderbird will then export your profile to the specified location.

I do not believe there is a way to export EVERYTHING into TB.

I used WLM for many years. After WLM, I used TB for a short time. The only thing I was able to figure out how to export into TB was the address book. All my email accounts I had to set up new in TB. Then I had to option TB the way I wanted. TB has a LOT of options.

Have a look at eMClient, I went from Win7 to Win11 and imported all of my emails from WLM to eMClient Free. I changed from a POP3 Account in WLM to an IMAP account in eMClient and it worked perfectly.
The FREE version allows you to use 2 x emails accounts.
eMClient looks similar to WLM and can be configured to what you like or need.

How to Import WLM to eMClient
