when I first bought my Monitor I was getting 5200 × 3250 for Desktop and Games now only 2560 x 1440 So whats going on ?

Since the monitor is getting data from the computer perhaps your Display Settings [right-click of the desktop] need adjusting.

I don't know why you think you were ever getting a resolution of 5200 × 3250. The monitor specs say that it has resolution of 2560 x 1440, so getting 5200 x 3250 is simply not possible.

    The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.

The mention of the gpu cable reminded me I didn't ask what the connection type is, VGA, DVI, HDMI or DP/Display Port? Also, I've never seen a monitor do any better than what the Video/Display adapter can provide, whether Onboard or Add-in card.

I wondered why I'd never seen "virtual super resolution". I see that it's an AMD specific feature, not present with my nVidia GPUs.

It's not obvious to me whether turning it on is a good, or poor, idea. Maybe it has broader applicability that nVidia's DLSS (deep learning super sampling), which is supposed to simulate a higher resolution than the monitor supports.

It's easy to overlook something like that.
I've done it myself before - but usually realise my mistake immediately, delete the screenshot, then replace it with a sanitised one.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Thanks. If I ever knew about it, I'd forgotten. I didn't realize that it exists, and has been around since the Maxwell (GTX 900) series. (GTX 1000, RTX 2000, and RTX 3000 series have followed.)

Maybe someday I'll turn it on. Or not.
