win 11 usb stick not recognised when writing and crashes

both my laptop and pc crash and wont write to usb card stick. and not recognised notice pops up. and have to unplug to get card readable again. card is 1TB and not even 1/3 full it was writing fine as put mp4 on to it nothing else. tried updates and reboot uninstall but nothing has worked

Please specify the exact data (at least brand and model number) of that usb flash-memory.
Where did you buy it?

A faulty USB connection or device could very well disturb the functioning of the CPU or the interface circuits on the motherboard.
In the past I saw a motherboard going defective because of a defective (externally powered) USB-hub.

Brand and modell please.

There are a lot of such flash memories for sale, that are not reliable, for instance if you buy them from eastern companies.
Don't have the specified size or are faulty / slow.

How has it been formatted (NTFS, etc).
How many partitions of what sizes?
What partition table system is used (MBR, GPT)?

More information is really needed as nobody here is clairvoyant.

its not been format but its in fat32 shows samsung in 512 but when you see spec used not all used 900 free of 1TB so which is correct

I have a cheap virtually unknown brand (Tomato) card reader that has exactly the same issue. When I copy small files, it is OK, but when I try to copy large video files and the transfer speed is maximum for more that a minute, it just crashes and cannot be read. To read it again I must disconnect and reconnect it. The solution was to use a third-party utility, such as Ultracopier, which can set a limit to the data transfer speed. Setting a limit a little under the maximum it reduces the required bandwidth and the device doesn't crash. Yes, it transfers slower but it is better than crashing all the time. The only disadvantage is that I have to disable Ultracopier to get the maximum transfer speed for other USB devices. So I have it always disabled and I enable it for the card reader.

The reason so many have asked for the exact make and model of the drive is that there so many fake ones available on the internet, often branded as one of the 'big name' manufacturers.

I would suggest you check if yours is one of them....

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. Most likely it is formatted as FAT32 and has a 4GB limit per file. Trying to copy a larger file won't let you. Format it as NTFS for use in Windows or exFAT for use in Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android. To read NTFS in Android install Cx File Explorer.

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.
