turn on Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, select Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services. In the Security section, toggle on Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.

the Microsoft defender smart screen has saved my wife a few times believe it or not with facebook links.

No doubt for some advanced users it can be annoying at times, but can be bypassed if needed.

I would agree that overall it's best to leave it on. If you're 100% certain it's an FP then allow it but otherwise it just might save your bacon
