Hi folks
the network mapping facilities os XP compared with W10/W11 on home computers are so much beter -- why has this stuff regressed in the last 20 years
On map windows network it shows all work groups available - and doesn't have any issues of Host / Guest problems on VM's with NAT type protocols etc. OK security on XP of course is by today's standards mega primative but I'm sure anybody running a Windows XP VM (or those who remember running real XP machines) can remember setting up networks was a breeze (unlike Windows NT -- Windows Neanderthal or Windows No thanks !!).
Windows 11 just seems randomly not to find the odd computer for all sorts of unfathomable reasons - just go through some of the really eseoteric posts on this forum for example to fix it -- I think even a ist class doctorate from M.I.T wouldn't help. !!
XP map from a VM

everything available and all computers visible.
Cheers
