Windows 11 home network will intermittently not list my printer

The printer will sometimes appear in the network list of devices, but more often fails to be listed. I am not making any changes to the computer when this occurs; no new apps or updates.
I have already tried the usual reasons for this issue; updated the printer driver to the latest version, added and removed the printer from the printer list, shutdown both the printer and computer. These are the things I can remember trying, all with no success.
Any suggestions, or ever better, solutions?

I would set a static ip address in the printer settings. All printers differ so you would need to consult your printer manual or search the web for your printer to do that

I would then add "LanmanWorkstation" as an additional startup dependency for the "Function Discovery Resource Publication" (FDResPub) service.
Open an elevated command prompt (i.e. use the "run as administrator" right-click context menu option to start cmd.exe), then execute the following command:

sc config fdrespub depend= RpcSs/http/fdphost/LanmanWorkstation

Also make sure the following services are set to automatic and running.

DNS-Client – Server

Function Discovery Provider Host

Function Discovery Resource Publication

SSDP Discovery

UPNP Device Host

Windows Defender Firewall
Then restart computer and restart printer

may i ask what printer make/model it is please.
as glasskuter has stated if its a network connected printer static addressing would improve the situation.

Thanks glasskuter for your help. Unfortunately, the solutions offered didn't resolve the problem. If you have any other suggestions. let me know. As requested by XxXxX, my printer is a new HP Officejet Pro 9135e.

I have an HP LaserJet Pro m148 and HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 connected via Ethernet cable to my Router, no issues for the basics when connecting a computer either Wired or Wireless/Wi-Fi to the Router.

I don't know if this will help you or not. I have my printer connected to my Wi-Fi router instead of my computer. this way all of my computers and cell phones connected to my Wi-Fi can use the printer. In fact I just did a clean install of Windows 24H2 to a new SSD and the OS found and installed the printer without me doing anything. I have two other printers that connect to my Wi-Fi router but I have them turned off.

Thanks, the printer has already been connected to the router and there is no problem with the connection. The issue is strictly with the Windows 11 network list. In addition to the printer not being listed my computer has also been missing for a long time, I have just learned to live with that issue.

If your computer does not show in network list, rather than setting FDResPub to start manually as the article suggests here is what has fixed if for many people

use regedit. Do this on all systems in network..

add "LanmanWorkstation" as an additional startup dependency for the "Function Discovery Resource Publication" (FDResPub) service, which seems to do the trick. To do this, you simply open an elevated command prompt (i.e. use the "run as administrator" right-click context menu option to start cmd.exe), then execute the following command:

sc config fdrespub depend= RpcSs/http/fdphost/LanmanWorkstation

Reboot each device after executing this command, and the devices should see each other more reliably in Network and File Manager.
