Windows update not working

Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4169) Desktop (OS Build 22621.4317)
I have just updated to 22H2 version of Windows 11 and all is fine except that the updates will not download and install as there is a button showing me there are updates waiting for this to happen.
Any ideas and help really appreciated.

Crisis over - ran DISM restore health SFC etc and nothing found to shut down the machine and when I restarted the updates had a message that they needed attention hit that button and the updates are back.
