Intel is abandoning high clock speeds on new CPUs, according to leak

The forthcoming Intel Core 9 Ultra 285K Arrow Lake processor will reportedly have a much lower clock frequency than the Core i9 14900K.

I don't think I would call a drop in top clock speeds an abandonment of high clock speeds. The clock speeds will still be high, but high clock speeds aren't necessarily the be-all, end-all.

If the rumours are true about the proposed new Intel Core Ultra CPU's (aka Arrow Lake) they will have numerous changes. Intel may have found a way to maintain high performance levels without the high-power usage compared to Raptor Lake.

Re the rumours going around re new AMD and Intel consumer CPU's, new GPU's from Nvidia, Intel and AMD, and Windows 11 24H2. Until official announcements are made everything remains speculation.
