I'm so sorry to see that you're having to deal with problems created by the new version. I know you've been a faithful supporter and trusted advisor for years, and it's a shame the devs aren't taking you and others in your position into account. Good luck with getting these problems resolved.

They are moving away from key activation completely. Too many stolen keys and key-generated keys.

I'd like to know if this will automatically update, or if it requires deactivation of version 4, download and installation, then going into my account and re-entering my key information?

I run a 'Premium' lifetime version.

Looked for an answer on Malwarebytes site yesterday, and didn't find anything.

Morning WXC, instead of waiting for MB to update itself ....I just downloaded the latest update from them and installed it. It worked fine for me and updated everything for me. I am a Premium user with lifetime license also.

I did do a complete image backup 1st tho ...just incase I needed it. LoL

Did you deactivate version 4 first? And then re-enter your key information in your account?

No I did not ....you don't need too ....it reads all your info just fine.
At least it did for me.

You can get 'MBSetup.exe' now from Brink's first post in this thread; otherwise, MB are doing a controlled release via 'Check for Updates'.

You you can install MB on another drive other than C:

Follow this procedure:

- MAKE A NOTE OF YOUR MB PRODUCT KEY - IMPORTANT
- on v 4.x, DEACTIVATE your product key thus Dashboard => Settings => Account => Deactivate
- uninstall v 4.x
- run the downloaded v 5.x 'MBSetup.exe'
- on the first screen, choose 'Advanced Options' to set the folder where you want MB to be installed
- install v 5.x
- REACTIVATE v 5.x WITH YOUR SAVED PRODUCT KEY

I'm seriously considering going back to 4.6.9.314 until the devs fix v. 5. I can always restore an image from day before yesterday, and turn off auto updates in MWB, but I was just wondering whether anyone knows where I can download the 4.6.9 MBSetup.exe file. That might be easier than bringing day-before-yesterday's Windows installation back up to date. I dunno.

Anyone know where the releases file server is?

I put my Premium ver. 5 on top of 4, installed with no issues. runs fine !

Thanks. Google found this for me;
and I got 'er done. The 469 interface is unhappy about my turning auto updates off, but I can live with that more easily than I can live with the things I dislike about v.5. I'm fully back to registered, licensed, ad-free 4.6.9 now.
