In my BIOS it's referred to as Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology. That has to be enabled if you use virtual machines (virtual OS's), but if it's on, core isolation won't enable (at least on my computer). If you don't have that setting enabled and you don't use virtual machines, I will allow...

I had a problem with core isolation that reported incompatible drivers. They were 4 Logitech drivers, but I don't have any Logitech devices. However, when I uninstalled Virtual Box and toggled the virtual setting off in the UEFI, I magically had core isolation turned back on.

Now that is interesting. I did get KB5055523, Microsoft sent it twice actually, and after the second install, I noticed (perhaps coincidentally) that my RAM usage peaked at 99% until I rebooted, then it would start all over again. I narrowed it down to Phone Link and even Co-Pilot agreed with me...

There is quite literally, a gazillion sites to tell you how to dual boot win and linux. The above is good, another is How To Dual Boot Linux and Windows 11 and many, many, many more. I don't recommend Kali as your 1st linux attempt (?) but if you're bound and determined, here's the home page...

I don't know about MS contact info but I feel your pain. I noticed this quirky behavior a couple of days, mostly with Explorer however also with Brave. I just chalked it up to MS trying to make my windows experience more enjoyable.:rolleyes:

There is a setting in the BIOS that you can disable the notice to install Armory Crate when installing Windows. There is also an uninstall program to remove Armory Crate listed on the Asus website for your MB.

Ha! I just had to fix my daughter's Dell laptop that started to exhibit the same Task Host block issue. I did the usual SFC and DISM and then disabled "fast startup". I don't know if that fixed the underlying problem, but it did allow her to restart/shut down without hitting the off button...

I have no major issues with my 2021 desktop (so far) other than cosmetic issues, but I have a bog-standard install with no third party system add-ons. My daughter has a bog-standard 2021 Dell laptop that needed rescuing because she couldn't restart or shut down, the result of "Task Host Window"...

I can attest that that works just fine. The only thing that is left from the old account (my son) is what I backed up to another drive before resetting the computer.

I couldn't stand it and amid shaking and quivering with terror, I braved downloading it from the Update Catalogue. After 15 minutes or so, and holding my breath while hopping on one leg and waving a dead chicken around my head, on reboot my computer booted up to the desktop. IT'S ALIVE!!!!!
