UPDATE: .. the HDD has been working fine for 4 days now.. no disconnects..
@Catnip .. my hub is an externally powered one and i guess cleaning the contacts did the trick..
@Berton .. mine are mostly Orico cases with two of them branded as Amazon Basics (read as unbranded )...
.. yeah.. the warning comes up when you have less than 10% space on that drive.. and it shows the drive in red..
.. haven't seen any degradation of performance there..
.. i just edited my previous post.. :D
.. drive optimization defragments on schedule.. and some of my drives are less than 10% free..
.. you don't need more free space if its done regularly.. since there will not be much to defragment..
.. that's a nice analogy @Berton..
.. to defragment a drive, you would need at least 15% free space.. for the swapping that happens during the process..
.. but i don't see someone defragmenting a drive every now and then especially if you have drive optimization turned on which basically...
.. if it's going to be a data drive, then i don't see any problems filling it to full capacity.. i have a few external disks (G, H, N) filled to almost full capacity that are working fine..
@FreeBooter .. as i said in my post.. its not a bad port, bad cable or a bad external enclosure..
.. not a dying HDD also..
@Ghot .. that's what we used to do in SevenForums.. :D
I have a TP-Link 7 port powered hub which has 7 HDDs connected to it.. all 1TBs and 2TBs salvaged from laptops in enclosures except for one WD 2TB..
.. all the HDDs except one older 2TB work fine.. the 2TB randomly disconnects from the hub while all the others are still connected..
.. USB...
.. and while we are at this.. let us not forget all those "Independent Advisors" at Microsoft Answers..
.. the text below is the first suggestion for a user who was asking why his neighbor's TV was showing up on his list of Cast to devices.. :sneaky:
.. thanks for the info @antspants.. i know i can always re encode the video with the required audio track.. :-)
.. i am looking for a solution without doing that using the original video itself.. i find it hard to believe that something this simple is not available..
.. i have a MKV video which has 5 audio tracks/languages in it.. i am able to cast this video to my Samsung 43" TV without any problems and everything works fine..
.. the only issue I have is not being able to select the audio track/language I want.. it always plays the first track/language and...
.. thanks for the replies.. i am already using Stardock Start11 and though it does have its shortcomings, it works fine.. :-)
.. i thought i'd ask around since this one seemed a lot more closer to 10 in the screenshots.. :-)
EDIT: .. uninstalled Start11 and used Explorer Patcher now.. looks...
