  1. VMware Workstation Pro has always been 32-bit?!?

I have noticed this a long time ago but still, good question. In short: The UI is 32bit while the hypervisor itself is 64bit. A 32bit executable can run / invoke a 64bit executable, so it makes sense that the UI will launch the hypervisor core when a VM is started.
  2. Simple way of moving / copying a HYPER-V virtual machine to another computer or disk(s)

Yep, it's mostly what I do here as well, all testing stuff and non-activated ones. In case of Windows activation, just 'export' the VM without the VHDX drive. That way the machine UUID is kept in the exported package.
  3. Latest mega intrusive ads on Browsers -- anyway to stop these

I don't get it in Chromium with uBO Lite. However in Incognito mode without blocker, I indeed get it, nasty big banner as in screenshot.
  4. Solved Switch to Linux

    Because it's possible. Jean-Luc Picard
  5. True or False - HYPER-V to be discontinued in 2029 ?

Bit late here but I've seen some panic articles like these on other sites before, ah the play of words. +1 @Bree Indeed. I've read some of the extra lines on that site to figure out it was 'Server' edition (standalone I guess) and not the 'regular' one in consumer Windows. And it also doesn't...
  6. Solved 21H2 ISO - Official Name?

Indeed. A good idea is to save / note the filehash together with the iso. For instance in a txt file, alongside the iso file. This will disappear from the download page once a new release is out. If you later need the old iso, you can re-check and remember it is the legit release. Or if you...
  7. Windows 11 Refs

@XxXxX Thanks for the info. Paragon has some decent software out there. @maur0 Thanks for posting. I've seen some of these on other forums, still very experimental. Though works miraculously well, some hiccups here and there, no OneDrive or System Restore so I've heard, but no really big deal...
  8. VMware Workstation Pro 17.6 is out with Windows 11 23H2, Server 2025 support and more

Would be a sight. It still makes a 'nice' desktop background with that teal accent colour. ;-)
  9. VMware Workstation Pro 17.6 is out with Windows 11 23H2, Server 2025 support and more

In a specific way, yes. Though technically by different approach and only available to gen 2 W8.1-W10-W11+ VMs. Check out gpu-partitioning for that: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/amd-gpu-partitioning-on-win-11-hyper-v-machine.21528/
  10. Solved How can I backup/restore a Windows Store app or game?

Hi there, If the appx file(s) are no longer available on the store server then it gets complicated. Some appx packages have dependencies so you'll need to export / get extra appx packages alongside these so this also gets complicated. Have you tried this? https://github.com/mjmeans/Appx-Backup...
  11. Trying to install Win11, defeated by VirtualBox

Weird issue at first but not much so start with. Windows 11 does not require VirtualBox or the other way around. If one or other program needs this, the issue is there with that program. Maybe provide more details how / where this issue started. Seems to be by installing VirtualBox 7.0.20...
  12. Windows 11 Refs

You mean the bootable system disk containing Windows is formated in REFS? A screenshot would be nice.
  13. Hyper-V GPU-P not working

To get the whole picture: Did it work at all with the integrated GPU? Then, assuming it is disabled, what is the output of the command? Get-VMHostPartitionableGpu
  14. Solved Oracle VirtualBox

Is that a BETA release? In that case, BETA or pre-release version, it might not be possible to disable via interface settings. The message is needed as to note user this is "not suitable for production use". Just use the stable edition to avoid this message.
