  1. PlayStation 5 (PS5) price to rise in Europe, Australia and New Zealand

Some of these prices are just intended to rip off customers - usually with some B/S over "Currency fluctuations" !!!!. AFAIK as @BrianInEngland points out the UK has a trade deal with Japan of 0% tariff's -- as does the EU Single market members that includes the EEA. With the UK £ and the EU's...
  2. Microsoft announces Office LTSC 2024 and Office 2024

Office 2021 seems just fine currently -- not sure what I need in extra in 2024 or office/365. If you get a Work PC or use your own device for a work related project - even as an external free lancer you can usually get a work supplied version of Office anyway which should be up to date enough...
  3. Insider KB5055617 Windows 11 Insider Dev build 26200.5551 (24H2) - April 11

What's this bonkers piece of garbage that pops up with the start menu with this build. Right pane. Otherwise the build is fine --works OK including Networking and Language seems decently fixed too. @Brink -- wasn't deg F invented by some nutty Polish person who devised ZERO as the point at...
  4. Solved Anyone else seeing this - VMware Workstation Pro Keeps Releasing Mouse and Keyboard

You don't but in some cases the touchpad driver can interfere with mouse etc - and on a lot of laptops it's quite easy to brush the touchpad just by accident. Disabling it removes that possibility. Cheers jimbo
  5. W11 LTSC specific updates - avoid mainstream updates and their lot of problems

Windows Enterprise can be got legally via retail - not sure if the extra cost is worth it and I don't think it's the LTSC corporate model. If you want stabilty at the USER level and are prepared to forego newer hardware support and possibly newer apps relying on that hardware you could install...
  6. Insider KB5055617 Windows 11 Insider Dev build 26200.5551 (24H2) - April 11

Finally a build where Networking seems to actually WORK PROPERLY !!!! Even from a HYPER-V Linux VM with External switch no problem accessing (BOTH WAYS) all other machines I have on Lan - both Windows and Linux. BTW a decent thing to install on Windows Host is via Add Optional Features is the...
  7. Outlook

It's probably that they don't want to keep port 25 or 2525 open to allow for "Bulk e-mail spam" etc. I know some ISP's in the UK do this - for example karoo.com which supplies a load of Internet over Hull and the East riding of Yorkshire. I thing B.T is OK on that - but others might have the...
  8. Hasleo Backup Suite

Great channel (Free for old classic movies and TV series) is TPTV ("Talking Pictures TV") - with the streaming - TPTV Encore has some great stuff -- an interesting one is Doomwatch -- (Love those haircuts and Dress sense back then ) which was based - very relevant even today on Pollution...
  9. Outlook

Some ISP's will only allow you to SEND email if you are logged on to the internet on their servers -- Gmail is fine though from anywhere if you want to add a GMAIL account to outlook. When travelling or using public Wifi you could be restricted into only using your own ISP's Webmail type of...
  10. Custom Icons for Windows 11 Thread (Folders, Dropbox, Google Drive, Podcasts, NVME Drive, Steam, Adobe)

You can design your own icons too also with what used to be a free program-- you can still get the last free version -- Icofx http://www.oldversion.com/windows/icofx-1-6-4 cheers jimbo
  11. Optional Features

Does anybody know why adding optional features (Settings-->Windows update-->add optional features)always seems to take ages even when adding something simple like Pan European Fonts no matter how decent your hardware is. I do need SSH server and the Pan European fonts - both very small...
  12. More different builds than people have had hot dinners ????

Hi folks Can anybody please rationalize all these different builds now -- Incidentally was there EVER a full Retail W11 Pro release either and what was it. ?? Surely Canary, Dev and "Current" / RTM should be 3 sufficient streams -- It's got so bonkers now that people even on THE SAME BUILDS...
  13. Solved Anyone else seeing this - VMware Workstation Pro Keeps Releasing Mouse and Keyboard

did you try disabling or re-installing the touch pad driver. Cheers jimbo
  14. Windows 11 Dev for Primary OS?

Nice one - good if you don't have a current working Windows system !!! otherwise I'd still go for the Winntsetup.exe method particularly if you want to bypass secure boot and / or TPM issues. For some reason using previous installer seems to take much longer in creating a large vhdx file than...
