Been using 24H2 since early February - but this annoying message - is triggering a daily Notification and I have hit a dead end trying to determine where it is coming from:

For the record - I use a local account. Will always use a local account - and there is zero chance of ever signing into the actual workstation with an MS account.

Next - "Share Across Devices" (as above) has been disabled by group policy and is baked into my install ISO.

Yet - this message persists. I have seen some so-called solutions - where a user goes to their MS account online and clears Cloud Sync on devices and so on - but that has not helped this at all.

I do use my MS account for the MS Store and for MS Office 2024 - and that is all. My MS account is operating correctly. The credentials are good with no other anomalies to report.

If anyone has any other ideas - would love to hear it.

Cheers

System > Notifications > Set "Do not Distrurb" and/or "Settings" + "Startup App Notification". You'll still get the banner notification wanting you to sign in using a Microsoft Account but it won't show up on your desktop at start.

Yeah - I am aware of knee capping the notifications - but I am really more interested in why the system is even generating a notify in the first place.

Logically - this makes no sense whatsoever.

You can't nag me to sign in to "continue app experiences across devices" when it is abundantly clear that "Share Across Devices (continue app experiences on other devices connected to your account)" is already completely disabled.

UPDATE!

Looks like I found the culprit.

Have one Win 10 22H2 VM that I use very regularly - that is a "device" tied to my MS account - and upon further inspection - it did have Shared Experiences - toggled on. Not exactly sure how it got like this as this VM has been in use for 3 years now - but I shut that off and now I see this:

A quiet panacea of nothingness.

Cheers all.
