How do I stop this prompt from continually coming back on the Settings Home screen? I've disable all the backup settings that I can find.

Try the old control panel - security and maintenance - maintenance - change security and maintenance settings (top left)

I'll probably disable the settings Home page if the stupid backup prompt keeps appearing. Most of us on this forum would most likely already have proper backup solutions.

Apart from the backup prompt, settings can be slow to load sometimes.

I like the Windows account. It has some benefits.
It's just the Windows 11 nag on the Settings Home screen.
I've only seen it once on another computer after trying the tweak suggested by Fabler2.

PS: I didn't put this thread in the Backup and Restore section. Someone must have moved it. I don't see it as a backup issue, but rather a Windows 11 issue.

It looks like Windows Backup is File History.
That's what I get when I search for it. What do you get?

I suspect that Winaero Tweaker setting may be the same tweak suggested by Edwin.

OneDrive might still be prompting you to back up your PC. Try these steps to check if they are helpful.
1. Open OneDrive from the system tray.
2. Go to Settings > Backup.
3. Uncheck options like "Automatically save screenshots I capture to OneDrive" and "Back up my files".

The simplest way is to do it once, then it does not hassle you thereafter.

This new backup is not a full image backup or data backup (if data is not on c user drives).

It is more of a settings configuration backup and user drive backup.

It is actually more handy than you might think if you do a clean install, you get option to restore the backup and it avoids going thtough all the first time setup stuff.

just a thought. Windows has another backup program in the start menu to back up settings, network, passwords and few other things.
i wonder would that be giving the need to 'update' warning.

I believe it's OneDrive. No options.
