Activate Windows - Go to settings to activate windows


Are you sure you had a retail or OEM version of Windows 10 upgraded to Windows 11? This message suggests that Windows was activated by your organisation, that is without using Microsoft servers. This type of activation (volume license) lasts only 6 months and it has to be activated again by your organisation. Ask your employer, if this is a work computer. Similarly if it is a school computer. Otherwise you can contact Microsoft for activating by phone, but you may be asked to buy a new key.

↑ This. I've had to do this a number of times. Telephone activation. Interestingly, I've had to do it with operating systems (complete operating systems) purchased from the Windows Store and delivered to me from the Windows Store in physical form with physical keys. One could not get anymore legit if they tried. But then, that was Windows 8 and I had upgraded to 8.1 as a Windows Insider. I have also had to resort to telephone activation on used systems clients have brought to me. Where they managed to get their keys is anybody's guess. Switching from Windows 7 to that tablet OS was a real joy ride.

    I own too many laptops: A Dell touch screen with Windows 11 and 6 others (not counting the other four laptops I bought for this household.) Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
Seems to have dissapeared as easly as it came. I have responded to "Did you attempt to upgrade your operating system recently?"

I have made NO changes to my computer hardware or otherwise. This was originaly pointed out. My computer has been running for years without AVN CHANGES.
