I'm trying to use a folder for pictures from my Synology NAS and can't add it when I do I get this error. When trying to add it to the index the option for that path doesn't show up.

I just need it to add it to the library folder.

Curious if you've looked at Voidtools Everything. I personally have disabled Windows Search and use Everything as my primary search engine. (I also use Everything Toolbar by srwi so I have a searchbar type object on my taskbar).

Using Everything, under Tools / Options / Folders, I've added the root directories of the network drives I've mapped. While it takes me a while to do the initial indexing, after that I'm able to see results in Everything and search from the Taskbar.

What I'm trying to do is use the Photo Libraries folder and add a folder from my NAS to it so that my C drive can be kept clear of extra space. But when trying to add a folder I get the index thing. I was not sure if there a way to add it and disable the indexing for it so I could use that feature.

I haven't looked into it, but I think there are ways to change where certain folders are mapped to. I vaguely recall (I want to say Symlinking?) a way to tell Windows to use an alternate folder for certain purposes, so I could keep things organized the way I wanted them to be. Mind you, it's been a very long time since I did that, but I sort of remember.

Can Symlinking do that?
