Solved Add windows 11 to dual boot windows 7 and 10

To answer some of the questions posted
For the chkdsk I followed some instruction I saw online I let it run one time without escaping than I used the registry editor to turn of checking of the drives
I have not ran Windows 11 since then so still questionable if it works but at least I can use windows 7 without all the chkdsk

The rpm of all the drives are 7200rpm

The ram I have is 8GB

20 seconds sounds good can that be achieved with the 7200rpm drive or do I need an SSD card ?

I will try windows 11 now and see if it the chkdsk shows up or not

So I verified that the chkdsk is no longer running when I boot windows 7 so that is fixed

About the speed I used my stopwatch on the phone to get a more exact measurement
So total time was 2min and 57 seconds so almost 3 minutes to load completely
Just to break it down a little It was 2min and 18 seconds to see the desktop with the icons and than another 37 seconds to see the taskbar

I tried the clean boot but only gained about 30 seconds so that is insignificant after 2 minutes

I did not say to disable fast startup in bios. What I posted was to disable Windows fast startup. That is most likely the cure for chkdsk running. Again, the command in a command prompt with admin rights in Windows is:
powercfg -h off

To go lower than 2 minutes you must replace the mechanical HDD with an SSD. Even then it depends on what loads at startup. Make sure you disable useless applications such as Chrome and Edge, Skype, Quicktime and any updater. You can always load or update the applications manually, why do that at startup?

I did not change that in bios or windows but regardless that would not cause the chkdsk to run From what I understand when windows 11 is installed it puts some "dirty bits" in some files and that causes chkdsk to tun all the time If I restore the setting in the registry I am sure it will start running again

As far as the fast startup I tried it but for some reason after I reboot it resets itself to on after I disabled it
I will try the command version to see if it works
Would I notice any speed difference ?

So you are saying there is no way to make it load faster than 2min without a ssd ? Even if you disable everything and have a bare bones windows 11 ?
That kind of defeats the purpose of upgrading to windows 11 that's why I never upgraded from windows 7 Why would I want to upgrade just to make the pc slower

I tried the powerchg command and that just removed the fast startup option but made no difference on the speed it was actually a little bit longer at 3min 16 but there was a quick windows update before I shut it down

You can try defragmenting the disk to improve loading time. Open This PC, click on the Windows disk and from Tools tab select defrag or whatever relevant appears. For better results you can use a third-party utility such as Auslogics Free Defrag.

Of course the free disk space must be 1/4 of the partition size or better. If the disk is full it slows down the computer. You may want to cleanup the disk before defragmenting it. Click the button to also see advanced system options to clean.

I doubt it has any problem with fragmening as I just installed this drive and it was slow from the beginning so it hardly had any use

I just try to rule out all the possibilities. I would also check the disk health. A disk with less than 100% health can get worse and eventually fail. The lower the health the slower it becomes. In the other hand, health might be 100% but the disk has aged and is slow nevertheless.

Thanks. I understand I was looking at the event log and I see a lot of warnings and errors I think I have to go through them one by one and try to fix or delete One of the was the XTU3SERVICE and at some point it say it timed out after a certain time so I am guessing that may cause some delays in booting or opening other apps From what I read this the Intel extreme tuning service I never used that so I am sure I can delete it

XTU3SERVICE is about Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. Try uninstalling it and see if there is any difference.

I tried to delete the xtu3service but it made no difference it is still in the event view but i doubt it is causing any big delay It says it timed out after 45000 microseconds so that's not much I also did other things I used the dsim whch found a file with a problem and stopped around 62 % so I have to look into that There is also 52 bacground apps running without me installing anything also opening any file or firefox for the first time takes about 15 seconds So this is going to be a long time project but this is not related to the original question so I am going to mark it as solved and maybe ask a different question if I have a problem I can't solve Thanks for everyones help
