This is probably a big ask :

I recently updated my Adobe installation. I uninstalled the old version and used the Adobe Program Eraser to clean out all the left overs and then installed the new version without any problems.

But now, for some reason, when I right click on a *.jpg file in File Manager folder, Adobe Photoshop no longer comes up as an 'also' or secondary option to pass to/open the file with. Photoshop does come up as the default app for *.psd file types.

I've tried using the 'Choose Another App' method which gives me the menu list of other apps to choose from and the option to navigate to my new Photoshop executable and click on it, but:

The system/screen blinks
Then the 'Choose Another App' menu list reappears aaaand I can do that over and over with no result.

The OLD Photoshop option DID work....

ALSO:
I CAN go to a *.txt file and pass on the usual suspects - use the 'Choose Another App' menu item - select Microsoft Word from the list 'Only Once' - the file opens in Word and Word gets added to the list of 'Also' options for *.txt files which indicates the Sytem is working okay.

I've been messing around with every iteration of the Registry File since Win 3.1 so...
Any ideas?

Uninstalling a program can remove the File Association for it, I right-click a file, choose Open With, scroll to the bottom and Choose another app, select it and click either Always or Once. Always then allow the double-click to work. Doing this sets or restores the File Association for that type. I do set File Explorer to show extensions, don't have to guess what file type it is.
