Solved after hibernating, Task manager won't show Wi-Fi anymore
It's getting irritating after weeks. I have to close TM, then I simply start it again and all is fine. It happens every time after hibernating. Any fix?

Thanks, I did so just now; it said it found and fixed corrupt files - but the problem remains.

Bob,
Have you been to Dell drivers & downloads to check for any Bios updates and to download then re-install your WiFi driver?
All the best,
Denis

@Winuser @Try3 Ty for the replies. I've just done all Dell and Realtek updates, but no benefit.
Since this is not a known thing, I'm thinking it's because I've recently installed VirtualBox which puts an Ethernet entry in Task Manager. I don't want to get sidetracked at the moment by re-installing VB.
That's my guess for now.

Not 'update' but reinstall that driver.

There is another Sure-Fire fix, that works every time.....
Totally Disable Hibernate! I do that on every new install.
Since the day that MS invented Sleep and Hibernate, thousands of complaints about them have cluttered up the internet.
I won't have anything to do with either one.
Just a thought!

PS: A side effect of Disabling Hibernate...you'll get rid of that Humungous 'Hiberfil Sys' file in your root directory.

I have to use Hibernate for my battery backup to work correctly.
