As you can read on github, it can be expected that system tray would possibly be removed or hidden in future releases of windows. Also im not a fan of the default shell. So i was searching the internet for system tray implementations and found the following:

-) Cairo shell and retrobar have a system tray based on managed shell
-) tabame has a sort of system tray which is not 100÷ compatible with windows tray
-) Reactos explorer_old and WinXShell provide a partially complete notification area
-) NTshell-/Newshell the rare Calmira port for 32 bit early nt has a system tray but only for 32 bit apps.

There also is a notification are app called tray module but it has terrible window placement and is to old to compile n win11 24 h2.. May preferred solution would be to have a hide-able window that is movable across the screen and that autohides..

ExplorerPatcher with the "Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher)" taskbar style choice has its own implementation that appears to effectively bring back the Windows 10 system tray (along with all the other Windows 10 taskbar functionalities) on Windows 11 version 24H2. At least for me, this free open source implementation actually runs more stable than that of Windows 11 itself. I choose to believe in luxury so ExplorerPatcher is 150% compatible then. Either that or Windows 11 is only 50% compatible with itself. Maybe less. 🤔

Got it now partially working. The author of manaaged shell was very kind and gave me some hints about how to use the managed shell library. Now just need some bugfixes and implement the context menu forneach icon which should be doable i hope...
