Hello everyone.....
where I live there are many electricity power fluctuations, and every time my monitor (Gigabyte GS32QC with FreeSync capability) turns off then on, I find that windows has switched briefly to a simulated monitor (with ridiculously low resolution) then returns to my actual monitor. this behavior causes problems for some games (especially those running Fullscreen exclusive mode) some suffer severe stuttering, and some even stop working. I managed to fix the low resolution of the simulted monitor, by making it the same as my actual display (done by editing values found in the key that have "Simulaed" in its name, found under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration")
this alleviated some of the issues, but there are still some games affected by it.
I suspect this behavior has something to do with Variable Refresh Rate (because my old non-VRR monitor didn't suffer from such problems), but I don't want to disable VRR (supposing that may solve my problem).........is there any method to disable this behavior in Windows ?
p.s. : my old monitor used HDMI 2.0 connection, while my current monitor is connected using Display Port 1.4
