Anyone else notice that Windows Settings fonts are not be crisp and clean compared to W10, W8, and W7?

What about changing the Windows 10/11 scaling method with the Windows 8 method using Winaero Tweaker or other suitable tool?
While I can't say for certain which one was the culprit, I have experienced unusual behavior with fonts after using this tool and other registry hacks. The only solution was to perform a clean factory re-install of Windows. Neither System Restore, SFC, DISM, Windows Repair fixed the font issues and they didn't resolve the blurry fonts either.

Better why, why doesn't stop all work on the next release of Windows, reduce the numbers of XBox only programmers and put them along with the all C-Suite officers in a warehouse without any outside access and get them to fix all of the myriad of problems in Windows 11?
And to help incentivize them, a 1-stall restroom that's locked 23 hrs a day and they need to have someone unlock the door.

Oh yes. It’s disabled.
I have AMD parts so I use the AMD Adrenalin software and tweak a few things there and I also make sure my monitors are set to 144hz. Is 74 the highest yours go?

Sadly yes. 74 is the highest.

To recap. The only method which worked was changing the scaling from W11 default to 150%. But that makes everything so large that viewing at this resolution was unacceptable to me.

That resonance so much with me, lol.

I'm stuck with microsoft. I tried Linus, I'm not woke or privileged to own a MAC

These days it's more common than ever to denying or gaslighting an issue exists. That way it won't be addressed unless some dominant or influential "body" gets on these corporation's arse to investigate (properly).

That's a good suggestion but these tweakers including Startisback have caused me major frustration on so many levels. I gave up on them especially since Microsoft is now more aggressive than ever to keep Windows 11 how they want it to be.

Have you corrected the ClearType setting? Search for ClearType and run the wizard to adjust ClearType for your monitor. You should see a huge difference in clarity.

Just a thought. Check your monitor controls. Is the picture size, brightness, contrast, Moire filter and anything else that affects the image quality adjusted properly? I would try to reset settings first and then calibrate again.

Checked all that, recalibrated. No change. It's only an issue with W11 (not so much on W10 and not all with W7 using same monitor)

No change. I saw that post long ago. It didn't help. I only use dark mode for some websites. Everything looks great in Chrome in "light mode". It's just Windows that's not clear, sharp, or dark(er). Most applications are fine too. Just not Windows menus and their fonts.

If you have an HDR monitor and enabled HDR it is great for games but screws desktop graphics. Try disabling HDR.
Not sure if I do or not how do I check the monitor for that? I dont even know what all the 5 buttons on the back of each monitor does cause I leave them on and they get turned off via PC shutdown. IId like to try doing it to see if my fonts look great

Check your monitor settings for any visual filters that could affect image quality. For example some TVs have some motion processing algorithms to smooth images.

I was unhappy with text quality when first changing to Windows 11. I changed the system font to one called 'MS Reference Sans Serif' and set the point size for everything to 10. This is on a 1920x1080 native resolution monitor. This made the text better. Text on some websites can still look a bit unclear, so not entirely a system font problem. More noticeable if it's black text against a mid-grey background, .

The image below shows some options in an editing program I have. Two computers on different operating systems and monitors. This is the worst case I can find just to show the difference. It's not as bad as this elsewhere and I've learned to live it. I feel the root cause may be the monitor itself but I could be wrong.

I would first make sure I have the latest official drivers, Windows Update is not always last. For example on my nVidia GTX 1050 Windows Update installs version 4xx.xx while the latest official drivers from nVidia is 5xx.xx Then I would set the screen to its native resolution and set scaling to GPU, not monitor, if applicable. Then I would go to Control Panel, Color Settings and carefully calibrate the monitor gamma and color values. Then I would run the ClearType configuration wizard. This should make text look a lot better.

HDMI or Display Port cables should not be affected, but a low quality or damaged VGA cable can blur your image. Try replacing your cable. Also try a different output.
