Apparently this is the new "battery saver" option for 25H2, and we cant set a threshold anymore...why?

Did a reinstall of W11 Pro 25H2 the other day (Thinkpad T14 Gen 5 AMD).
Noticed I was not receiving the "battery low" message/notification at 20%.
Found out on a discord support page that since 25H2 update (?), there is no more of the set battery threshold option anymore where you pick a %.
And 'battery saver' has changed to 'energy saver' with a default "Energy saver turns on at 30%".

I used to be able to change the setting to about 20% and it'd warn me of low battery.

Can I ask why this is done? Couldnt find many posts online as thought it would cause uproar lol.
I think the workaround is via the 'Control Panel>Power Options' right?:

oh I see. So what do I do? It's not the biggest issue in the world, but still.
Do you know of any other posts that link this issue/ 'bug' ?
I guess this is why one shouldn't update to the 'latest and greatest' OS versions right?

There's a thread for this version in the news section, some have reported one or two bugs with this Preview update. Best I can come up with is run DISM commands to check OS integrity, and then the sfc /scannow checkup to see if that brings up the option again. If not, I would just do an in-place upgrade with a prior update, keeping your files and settings (And drivers) to return to a version before this Preview update.

Hey Wakawaka1234.
You've got to roll back from 26200.8524 to 29580.1000 like how I did.
And for that you've got to run this command: wusa /uninstall /kb:5089573 in cmd as Admin. And then follow the next prompt that opens. And Well, restart your PC when the Prompt asks you to.

DISCLAIMER!: This won't introduce Viruses or damage to your device. It certainly did not for me.

Optionally: Disable Receive updates once they become available in Settings -> Windows Update to prevent it from comming back unwantedly.

Very interesting thanks.
The Microsoft External Staff says it's to do with certain power configurations / drivers are not fully initialized.

But the bottom comment says it's to do with W11 25H2...
He suggests the Control Panel workaround which I do...but I'll monitor the thread...

Out of curiosity, I just checked and I too don't have the threshold setting in Power Saving, but I am running Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.8457 on a desktop (2nd system specs). Could be that your system is not properly detected as a laptop due to some missing/wrong Registry keys? This would explain why there is no threshold as Windows think there is no battery. Can you see any battery in Device Manager? Post screenshot.

Hey, some other peeps have reported this due to said W11 version so unsure if it's what you said. Not denying, but still...
I can charge the battery, it shows in control panel, system settings etc etc.
