Well after reading a few posts over at the stevehoffman forums about HDCD CD playback, I decided to bust out my Rotel RCD-1072 CD player as it supports HDCD playback and hook it up to my Teac UD-503 DAC. It sounds amazing, especially with HDCDs.

Now I'm just waiting for this cable to arrive so I can keep it where it is. I had to order a 10-foot one so the price it a little more ($125). Got it direct from Amazon with a 10% discount. So, $125 and change with taxes.

Yeah, I just connected CD player directly to the DAC. What you see is as is; Just waiting for the cable to connect. Had it hooked up earlier, but the longest cable I have is about a foot short and would end up running across my desk.

Anyway, next up is to find place for my turntable and its pre-amp, which I can also hook directly into the DAC :-)
