I'll to have a listen to that. ABM was of course legendary for his extraordinary technique AND the sounds he could draw out of the piano. His DG recordings of Chopin are something, especially the one with the Mazurkas (needs to be heard in the hires sound version release).

With the exception of having to login online to do account stuff, it's pretty much identical.

For Qobuz I use both the desktop app and via the browser. That said I've yesterday started testing streaming Qobuz direct via my Yamaha Aventage RX-A780 AVR controlled via the Yamaha Controller App in my Android phone.

The recording used for testing is of music for brass by Giovanni Gabrieli released by Linn Records in 24bit/96khz. Without going into audiophile babble (which I dislike) this has excellent rich sound. And this majestic music is a good intro into music from the Italian Renaissance.

I think they're closing something like 60 stores country wide. I know they're closing one in Tampa and one in Altamonte Springs, which is kind of joined with Orlando.

Macy's in Philadelphia, affectionately known as John Wanamaker's Department Store was founded in 1861 by mercantile merchant and music aficionado John Wanamaker. [Wanamaker's]
In that department store resides the worlds largest, playable pipe organ, 7 stories high..., John Wanamaker's pride and joy!

In 1964, renowned concert organist, Virgil Fox, created one of the first landmark recordings on that organ, a ground breaking recording at that time, on 35mm magnetic film!

That recording happened to be the first LP my late father ever purchased, and, I still have the original pressing...

I actually made a pilgrimage to that store, Lord & Taylor's at the time, to see and hear the wonderful instrument!
The only camera I had at the time was a cheap Kodak Instamatic and all the glossy's got lost over the years!

So there you have it..., along with a few other tidbits, there's a bit of historic fondness surrounding this landmark which makes this event rather sad!

Having said that, I'll leave you with this immortal piece, recently recorded on that very, monumental, instrument: JS Bach's "Come Sweetest Death" (Arr. Virgil Fox 1964)

BTW, I had (still have) a dedicated CD player that was also a CD recorder (Pioneer PDR-509) so that's how I used to copy LPs to CD. Might be able to find one cheaper, though all the cheaper ones I saw was missing the remote, which I suggested you have.

I ripped half of Deep Six for my wife using Roxio's easy LP to MP3 just now. It was a little time consuming because the album doesn't have much silence between tracks. But it was an overall success after adjusting the tracks. Not bad for software that's no longer being produced!
