thanks, i'm already using what you mentioned (as an average user). im wondering if there are a few tricks that maybe advanced users can giveYoull want to decrease as much background process as possible
- Go to Startup Apps in the settings and disable as much as possible then restart the computer
- Go to Power & Battery and change Power Mode to "Best Power Efficiency"
- Turn on "Battery Saver" to "Always"
- If you use chrome turn on Memory Saver and set to Maximum
- Turn Energy Saver in chrome to "Turn on when your computer is unplugged"
- Uninstall unused applications (This will decrease background processing)
- Change wallpaper to black color and don't use maximum brightness
- Turn off bluetooth
- Only have an application open if you are using it, otherwise fully close it
i will do this
i found this too works great![]()

I mean *I would remove Defender but that's me
Umm I'm OK. Look at my specs. I had to. YouTube was Lagging and yes I Disabled things. I know what I'm DoingUsers here have VERY different opinions regarding disabling/uninstalling Defender. Respectfully, I consider this advice to be irresponsible and highly advise against it unless you have other AV protection. In that case most 3rd party AV will automatically register in Windows security which turns Defender OFF and the 3rd party app beomes your protection.
Defender is specifically designed for Windows. There is no other 3rd party AV lighter on resources.than Defender. Please don't leave youself unprotected.
I wasn't trying to throw shade and never meant to insinuate you didn't know what you're doing. It's your system, you can do what you want with it, but it's ill advice to give in an open forum and I will disagree every time it's suggested, no matter who suggests it. Results of disabling security can be far worse than the impact that security has on the system. Just like when someone suggests disabling windows updates. I'll always disagree with that, too. We are reacting irresponsibly if we suggest doing anything that might put a user at risk.yes I Disabled things. I know what I'm Doing
Yes Power Saver mode would be bestIt's an overlay
