Better understanding Edge's (Bing's) approach to website urls

Jro, you put the link in the code tags not an image. I was pretty clear.
Here, revised.

Type:

[C] [/C]

Then paste the link in between the two

[C]This is the link you want to show people[/C]

OR

Paste the link, highlight/select it with your mouse, then click on the icon in the post box toolbar that looks like this: >_

It must also flag the order of the keywords (or does it give that priority) to be sure to get the url with that exact title.
You’re not going to get a direct link shown in a google result.
To prioritise words when searching you need to use quotation. If you search -> I want google to search this query about frazzle but it also must return results for dazzle
It will search what you type but with emphasis on Frazzle Dazzle

I have to be honest, that’s as far as I go down your rabbit hole, I don’t know why you care, but that’s for you to know not me.

“Google” can answer every question you asked, if you search the questions properly.

Considering View attachment 98456

1) What's the purpose of View attachment 98457 and why is this not done by other search engines (maybe it is being done but I'm not aware of it)

2) What does this mean? View attachment 98458

3) View attachment 98459View attachment 98460This means the search relates to the separate search terms water, pressure, tank, diagram as well as the search string "water pressure tank diagram"

4) View attachment 98462 relates to ??

5) View attachment 98461relates to ??

6) if this string returns the same site as the simpler string View attachment 98463

What does 4 mean? What does 5 mean? and why isn't the simple string 6 included in the url address under consideration? (and, before I forget, what does 1 mean?)
This was my response to Edwin's post "Full URL's please." I did not provide full urls per se because they've already been posted: namely the URL Bing responded with and the URL Google responded with.

I produced this because I'm asking questions about the structure of a response to a search request by Bing and by Google. I've gotten a lot of interesting responses to questions related to my initial post though I'm not all of the questions themselves (e.g., #6) were answered.
Here, download this PDF Cheat Sheet

One of those unexpected "interesting and unexpected responses" thanks.
Jro, you put the link in the code tags not an image. I was pretty clear.
I created two graphic images, supplemental text, and posted it.
You’re not going to get a direct link shown in a google result.
?? The google result I got was not a direct link (and the Bing response was a direct link)??

I have to be honest, that’s as far as I go down your rabbit hole,
Glasskuter went down the rabbit hole--and a rabbit hole it was!!

“Bing Sucks”

- Sinto.

😁

I use DuckDuck... Because I hate Google/Alphabet. I only use Google when showing examples here, I never use BING, and I hate Edge.

Again, jro, if you want answers to your questions, Bing/Google can help.

if you want answers to your questions, Bing/Google can help.
Bing provides answers to search questions. Google search provides answers to search questions. DuckDuckGo go provides answers to search questions... So do other search sites...

They do this by providing a URL that displays a web page response to the query.
The form of the Bing URL seems to relate to the location as well as the history it seems of the answer provided.

How would I query Bing (or Google) regarding the internals of the URL-address answers Bing provides?

Copilot
The URL you provided appears to be a link to a specific video or related videos on Bing's video search. However, without more context, it's difficult to provide specific information about the content of the video. The URL contains parameters that suggest it may be related to a "water pressure diagram" on YouTube.

Unfortunately, the search results didn't provide a direct match to the specific video related to a "water pressure diagram". The search results include various videos and related content [1] [2] [3] [4] [5].

If you're looking for information on water pressure diagrams, I can certainly help with that. Water pressure diagrams are often used in fields like hydrodynamics and plumbing to visualize how pressure varies in a water system. If you need more specific information or help with a different topic, feel free to ask! 😊

You
In this url, what does 必应 mean?

Copilot
The "www.bing.com" you see at the beginning of search responses is not actually part of the response. It's a placeholder used in the underlying system to represent the source of the information, which in this case is Bing. When you see this in a response, it means the information provided is based on a web search from Bing. However, in the actual response that you see, this placeholder is replaced with the actual URL or source of the information. This is done to provide you with the most accurate and reliable information, and also to give credit to the original source. Please note that this is a simplified explanation and the actual process involves more technical details. I hope this helps! 😊

You

In this url, what does “&mid=” indicate or do?

Copilot
In the context of a URL, &mid= is a parameter that typically stands for ‘media ID’ or ‘message ID’. It’s used to uniquely identify a specific piece of content on the website.

When you see &mid= in a URL, it’s followed by a unique identifier (a string of numbers, letters, or both). This identifier is used by the server to fetch and display the correct content to the user.

For example, in a video sharing website, each video will have a unique media ID. When a user clicks on a video, the media ID is included in the URL, allowing the server to know which video to display to the user.

Please note that the exact usage can vary depending on the specific practices of the website’s developers. I hope this helps!

You
In this url, what does “mid=E076D457E85F350F68DAE076D457E85FE5F350F6BDA7AJAXhist=0” indicate or do?

Copilot
The mid=E076D457E85F350F68DAE076D457E85FE5F350F6BDA7A part of the URL is a parameter that typically stands for 'media ID'. It's used to uniquely identify a specific piece of content on the website.

The AJAX part is a web development technique used for creating interactive web applications. It stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. In this context, it might be used to load the video or related content without refreshing the entire page.

The hist=0 part could be a parameter used by the server to manage the user's history or navigation on the site. The exact meaning can vary depending on the website's structure and the way its content is organized.

Please note that the exact usage can vary depending on the specific practices of the website's developers. I hope this helps! 😊
