Solved Bleachbit vs. CCleaner?

Hi,

Some recommend Bleachbit over CC.....

What do the experts here recommend?

Neither but most people here are going to recommend CCleaner.

No, I just leave them generally and then delete old files from my Documents folder when I feel my disk space is beginning to get low. If you're going to run a disk cleanup program then simply use the one built into Windows. I usually see people recommend CCleaner because you can select which cookies you wish to keep otherwise there is no reason to.

I only use CCleaner Portable occasionally, not the "normal" version of CCleaner

there's also Wise Disk Cleaner, which is my first choice over both Bleachbit and CCleaner

I am not a big fan of those tools either as Windows tools can do a pretty good job by themselves.
I do like testing them however and the only one I would recommend is DiskMax (totally free).
The big plus is that it cleans up outdated versions from WinSxS and because I use MS Dev Insider builds,
it's almost a must.
It is a tool that has 3 levels of cleaning, all fully configurable.
I don't consider it a tool suitable for everyone though.

btw, Bleachbit hasn't been updated since November 2021 (latest release is 4.4.2)
while Wise Disk Cleaner and CCleaner got recent updates

You can just use the following command from command prompt:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

The use of any disk cleanup utility is not needed because for one windows cleanup is coded into windows and works for that reason
other 3rd party cleanup tools can be damaging to your drives. If you have SSDs especially. I wont elaborate except the fact if you google
Why you shouldnt run constant cleanup programs and why and how they do damage is all explained via google search. I use to use them all the time but now I only use windows cleanup tools or leave whats on my drive as long as it isnt huge files taking up way to much space. The millions of replied here along with their reasonings is valuable but this topic has been discussed more than you know across the net. However this is also MY opinion, so as not to argue but only give my point of view. In the end as with anything in life, it is your choice. Good luck.

Stick to cc then.
As for DiskMax, one example, let's say you have credentials saved up in your browser(s) and several different users on that system , you obviously do not want to erase them but If you do, you can do a system wide cleanup as admin., or cleanup individual users'.
But as anything in life, you need to inform yourself; is it really needed for what I do?
All the points on this thread are valid, plenty of pros & cons. And in truth, Alexey I am concerned about you running any cleanup software blindly.
