Solved Bluetooth pairing dialog never shows.

Ah well I just thought of installing OTT, even a few times, rather that removing and re-installing might have made a difference. Repair install is your last resort as you say.
Hopefully the chip isn't on the way out.

That's my thought as well, and I almost posted that by saying perhaps the BT device is "partially working", but...

We'll see after John does the repair install.

Can't be on the way out - BT devices already paired work just fine. And if the device I'm trying to pair has its own interface, I can use it to pair with Windows, and it works. I was able to remove my phone, then pair it again because I could initiate the pairing request from the phone. Windows threw up a small pairing dialog box:



and once I clicked Yes, it paired just fine.



It works, my Pixel Buds Pro work, and my XBox controller work.

This is not a hardware problem. It's purely software.

And the proof is in the pudding.

In-place upgrade to repair 22631.2715 using UUPDUMP-derived .ISO for 22631.2792.



The scaredy-cat dialog window is no longer scared, and stays in place, allowing me to pair things from inside Windows.

If it ever happens again, try creating a new user and logging in as him/her then testing BT.
